We are delighted to share the heartwarming success of the tenth Free Eye Camp organized by Thakur Satyanarayan Kapuria Temple Trust in Rampur Bushahr.
This transformative event, conducted in memory of the late Shri Basant Lal Gaggal, Chairman of the Trust for many years, unfolded from June 24 to June 26, 2023.
Camp Inauguration: The camp’s inauguration was a spectacle of community support, with long queues forming as early as 5 am in Rampur Bazaar. Despite a sudden downpour, the spirit prevailed, and registration shifted seamlessly to Rain Basera, thanks to the efficient coordination of Nagar Parishad Chairperson Shri Mati Preeti Kashyap and Atul Ji.
Community Unity: Over 1200 individuals received free eye examinations, with 80 undergoing surgical treatment in Rampur. Post-examination, more than 350 patients were recommended for surgery. In an exemplary act of compassion, 80 of the most in-need patients were transported from Rampur to Palampur in two buses arranged by the Temple Trust. The buses were flagged off by the Trust’s Chairman, Shri Ashwani Soni, accompanied by 14 dedicated volunteers from the Trust and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Collaborative Efforts: The success of the camp was a result of collaborative efforts. About 50 volunteers, including those from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Ekal Vidyalaya, and Seva Bharati, worked tirelessly to make this event a grand success.
Gratitude to Supporters: The camp received overwhelming support from the residents of Rampur Bushahr, with the city turning out in full force. Heartfelt thanks to the police department, SDPO Sahiba, and all the police personnel for their substantial support.
Medical Marvel: Maranda Palampur’s Dr. Rohit, Dr. Ashish Gupta, and their team conducted eye examinations, revealing that every third or fourth person needed surgery. Despite government regulations limiting surgeries to 70, 14 others underwent minor surgeries. Special thanks to the Rotary Eye Foundation Hospital for their invaluable service.
Sustained Impact: Witnessing the substantial need, the Trust promptly decided to send additional patients for surgeries at Maranda Hospital on July 1, 2023, covering their expenses as well.
Acknowledgements: Our gratitude extends to MS Prakash and the staff of Khaneri Hospital, the Electricity Department, and the Water Supply Department. Special thanks to all the officers and staff for their seamless coordination during surgeries.
Team Appreciation: In conclusion, we express our deepest appreciation to the entire team of Thakur Satyanarayan Kapuria Temple Trust, including Executive Chairman Shri Ashwani Soni Ji, Madan Bharti Ji, Roshan Choudhary Ji, Uma Datt Ji, Rajiv Agrawal Ji, Rajesh Agrawal Ji, Vishnu Sharma Ji, Mohan Mehta Ji, Pratap Negi Ji, and Trust employees Satish Kumar, Satyanand, Sandeep, and ambulance driver Sunil.
